Myanmar Shan Villages
For the Indonesian taste profile we lean heavily on Papua New Guinea as an origin. I confess this can be a problem in my green sourcing. If it were an interview with possible employer - certainly it would qualify as one of those identify a weak area. But because I'm not a moron or really a novice coffee buyer anymore I can provide solutions. And Myanmar is becoming by most craft roasters the default I'm tired of carrying PNG's what else can I buy solution.
I like this coffee a lot. It's a pleasing and warm cup. It won't wow you in any way but it's a pretty balanced cup. Everything kind of works in unison. There's a certain overall pie taste mixed with oats that turns into something resembling a stout.
As an origin Myanmar is still relatively new to the craft coffee world so generally the prices are high for us along with a small supply that seems to make it's way to most craft roasters in some capacity. I'd expect in the coming years an expansion of quality, offerings along with relative pricing. With that said we're still keeping it at the 12.99 price point for accessibility.
